• This course is for those who have earned the WSET Level 3 in Wines. D1 Wine Production is the first course all Diploma candidates must take before moving on to other units.  It delves into the science of wine to include viticulture & vinification practices as well as maturation, treatments, and packaging around the globe. It is assessed by means of a 90 min open-response exam that  is offered several times a year. The course fee includes both WSET Global Classroom and American Wine School Virtual Lectures on Zoom. The WSET Global Classroom is an independent study program with quizzes and activities to help you move through the content. Guided by an online tutor, the Global Classroom does not have lectures. The American Wine School Virtual sessions are instructor-led lectures with specific dates and times. All sessions are recorded. Additionally, the course fee includes a 3 year materials and registration fee.

All sessions are recorded.
  • This course is for those who have earned the WSET Level 3 in Wines. The virtual D6 Diploma course is an independent research paper on a wine-related topic. Each year on Aug 1st, WSET announces two new topics for the coming academic year. Candidates may selected a topic that interests them and complete a 3,000 word research paper independently. The topic of this paper is Low & No-Alcohol Wines. Candidates must register by purchasing this product by Jan  15, 2024. The submission date for a hard copy of the paper is Jan 31, 2024. A hard copy of the paper must arrive before end of business (5pm CST) on Jan 31, 2024. General Tips:
    • Follow all the regulations outlined in the paper guidance.
    • Don't change the name of the paper.
    • Your paper must have a diverse bibliography.

Students will be introduced to our Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits while also exploring the use of spirits in cocktails.   • This course is for those who have earned the WSET Level 3 in Wines. It is the largest course of the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines award. The WSET Global Classroom D3 Diploma course focuses on the wines of the world. The course includes the Diploma D3 eBook and online activities and quizzes led by WSET. The American Wine School offers one-on-one tasting feedback online. The American Wine School also offers Virtual lectures on Zoom for select wine regions. The D3 exam is offered May and Oct of each year. The exam is given over two days in Chicago.
  • This intermediate level course provides information on basic grape varieties, climates, and wine making techniques used in the major grape growing regions of the world. Additionally, the course includes service, storage and tasting techniques. This course results in a WSET Level 2 certificate. No experience required. This course is taught by a live instructor online and is delivered over 6 weeks. Once you register, study materials will be sent to you via regular mail. You can begin studying immediately. A class link will be sent to you via email a few days before the class begins. While the classroom is virtual and contains all the content, materials, and instruction a live class would, students are required to purchase their own wine. Since there is no blind tasting associated with the exam, students can taste as many or as little of suggested wines as they desire. The instructor will provide a wine list needed for the class.
