Wine 101 How to Taste Wine: Whether you know a little or a lot about wine, Wine 101 is a great way to start your formal education in wine. This one-night course covers basic wine making techniques before jumping right into how to taste like a pro. The course is based on four wines which can be purchased from our online partner WineJug as a hand-selected AWS 4 pack and delivered to your home or you can take our 101 wine style list to your local retailer and buy the wines yoursel f. Either way, it is a great way to learn about wine styles and tasting technique. Participants can take a post-class quiz to test their learning. No experience is required. $50 Per person.

Food & Wine Pairing: While most wines are designed to be consumed with food, there are some trick of the trade when it comes to food & wine pairing. This virtual class is based on simple elements of both food and wine that can easily be set up at home. During this one-night class, tasters will sample common foods with specific wines designed to illustrate proper pairing technique. The course is based on four wines which can be purchased from our online partner WineJug as a hand-selected AWS 4 pack and delivered to your home or you can take our Foods & Wine wine style list to your local retailer and buy the wines yourself. Participants can take a post-class quiz to test their learning. $50 per person.

Virtual Introduction to Wine: A Virtual Introduction to Wine is designed to share information on classic grape varieties, how to taste wine like a pro, food and wine pairing as well as everyday wine service. Perfect for people new to the world of wine or those interested in learning how to select a bottle of wine from a retail shelf, this virtual, 3-course series is a great starting point for most novice consumers. The course is based on six wines which can be purchased from our online partner WineJug as a hand-selected AWS 6 pack and delivered to your home or you can take our Intro wine style list to your local retailer and buy the wines yourself. Participants can take a post-class quiz to test their learning. No experience required $150 per person.

AWS Wines of France: This course will cover the eight basic regions of France. During each of the four sessions, we will review the geography, topography and climate of two major wine growing regions in France. The course will cover three wines each week for a total of 12 wines over the term of the course. The course is based on four wines which can be purchased from our online partner WineJug as a hand-selected AWS 4-pack case and delivered to your home or you can take our French wine style list to your local retailer and buy the wines yourself. Before taking this course, it is best to have taken either Wine 101 or Virtual Introduction to Wine course. Participants can take a post-class quiz to test their learning. $200 per person.

 

                

In addition to leisure classes, the American Wine School offers certification programs through the Wine & Spirit Education Fund (WSET). Whether you are look for classes on wine, spirits or sake, we offer WSET classes at all levels for both professionals and interested consumers. Classes are offered on the WSET Global Classroom for flexible, independent study or as Virtual Classes with  live lectures conducted by American Wine School Instructors.
