D1 Wine Production

Diploma Registration is open 365 days a year. Candidates are registered once they pay the REGISTRATION FEE below. Once the WSET registration is processed, candidates will receive access to the Diploma study materials and e-Book.

D1 Flex-study are offered in January (April exam) and June (Aug Exam) and are purchased separately. All candidates must pay the Registration Fee below before purchasing The D1 course. D1 is a 6 week-course online, Flex-study course supplemented by an AWS Virtual Class Launch on ZOOM and a dedicated online Diploma Mentor to answer questions and provide one-on-one feedback to mock exam questions. The course delves into the science of wine to include viticulture & vinification practices. Understand what the vine’s requirements are to produce grapes and explain how the natural and human factors in the vineyard influence the quality of the grapes produced. Understand what winemaking options are available to a a producer and explain how these options influence the style, quality, and price of wines produced. Assessed by means of an open-response paper, the exam is 90 min.

Cancellations & Refunds

While courses may be deferred as outlined in our Course Deferment Policy, American Wine School does not offer course cancellations or refunds once the study materials have been shipped to the student. Should a written request for a refund occur before the materials (and exams) are ordered, a refund may be granted but it it not guaranteed. All sales are final. In the case of a missed exam, it is understood that a missed exam fee will be required to re-sit the exam. In the case of a transfer to another school, it is understood that the candidate will be required to pay any additional course or exam fees resulting from the transfer. Exam fees are not refundable or transferable to another school or candidate.
