A beginner level introduction to sake for those starting a career in the industry or pursuing an interest in sake. For individuals new to the subject, this qualification offers a hands-on introduction to the world of sake. You’ll explore the main styles and types of sake through sight, smell and taste to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting flavours and aromas. The course assessment is a 45 min, 30 question, multiple choice exam that can be taken online or in person. The course materials should take about 6 hours to complete. The American Wine School offers WSET Level 1 Sake, 4-week program on the WSET Global Classroom online format:

WSET Global Classroom is an online, tutor-guided course with weekly activities. There are no instructor-led lectures associated with this course. An online tutor guides the WSET online classroom. Weekly topics can be viewed by logging into the online classroom anytime during the week. There are set start and finish dates for each week, but no set class times. The course is offered in 7 modules with educator support. The course modules should be followed in order, but students are free to complete the modules at their own pace during the 4 week window. 

The Level 1 Online Learning course fee includes study kit, online course, and exam fee. The total cost is $230 per person.
