Introduction to Wine: One Book, Two Classes

An Introduction to Wine book is designed to share information on classic grape varieties, how to taste wine like a pro, food & wine pairing as well as everyday wine service. Sent by regular mail after registration, this is the main text used to conduct two (2) one-night classes: Wine 101: How to Taste Wine and Food & Wine Pairing.

Wine 101: How to Taste Wine

Wine 101: How to Taste Wine is taught online using Zoom. Perfect for people new to the world of wine, or those interested in learning how to select a bottle of wine from a retail shelf, this virtual class is a great starting point for most novice consumers. Participants can take a post-class quiz to test their learning. No experience required. $50 per person.

Food & Wine Pairing

Food & Wine Pairing, the second class in An Introduction to Wine, is taught in person at a local restaurant. While it is not mandatory, AWS highly recommends either taking Wine 101 first or purchasing a copy of An Introduction to Wine to read before attending this class. Designed to offer first-hand pairing experience, this class includes a brief lecture followed by the presentation of 4 chef-prepared plates and 8 hand-selected wines. $80.00 per person.
