This qualification is intended for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of wines or those seeking to build on the introductory knowledge gained with the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines. You’ll gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory, you’ll explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence. This course is perfect for students wishing to develop their expertise in spirits and liqueurs. The course covers the fundamentals of spirit production methods, principal raw materials, and the range of key spirit styles. Spirits service and use of spirits in cocktails will also be covered during the course. The course ends with a final exam of 50 multiple-choice questions. The course fee includes all study materials, wine samples, tuition, and examination. Shipping is not included.

This Hybrid course is recommended for those who have earned the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits certificate, or have a good foundation of wine knowledge. In-depth lectures and discussions covering wines of the world are designed to give a thorough understanding of the principal wines of the world and their commercial importance. The course is Hybrid with a combination of instructor-led lectures on Zoom and in-person lectures and tutored wine tasting. All candidates submit wine tasting notes for feedback. Practice quizzes are provided. Successful candidates receive WSET Level 3 Award in Wines certificate. The Hybrid course fee includes all study materials, wine samples, tuition, and examination. The WSET Diploma aims to provide specialist product knowledge and understanding of the global and domestic markets for wines and spirits and develop a candidate’s ability to present information in a format suitable for business.
