Designed for beginners or intermediate level candidates, this 6-week course will provides hands-on exploration into the world of spirits and is best suited for those working in the industry or spirits enthusiasts. You will learn about the fundamental production methods and principal raw materials discovering how they are used to make the main styles and types of spirits. The course also covers how spirits are used in the making of cocktails. Through sight, smell, and taste you will develop an understanding of the key factors affecting flavors and aromas. The final 60 minute exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. Successful completion of the exams earns students WSET level 2 Award in Spirits certificate. The total number of course hours is 14.

American Wine School Virtual  WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits

The American Wine School Virtual Classroom meets weekly at specific dates and times just like an in-person classroom. These classroom lectures are led by a live instructor from the American Wine School and are identical to our face-to-face instruction with one exception; Students are responsible for purchasing the spirits for the course. Virtual sessions are recorded for candidates who might miss a class or want to listen to a lecture again. While there is no blind tasting on the exam, sampling spirits is a fun part of the learning experience. Students should taste a range of spirits during their studies. Once the course is over, students sit the exam in person at an American Wine School location or online from the comfort of your own home. COVID-19 UPDATE: As of June 1, 2020 WSET will offer Level 2 Award in Spirits exam virtually ONLINE. While in-person exams are still available, WSET will now offer online exams making it possible to take the exams from the comfort of your own home.

The Level 2 Spirits Virtual course fee of $525 includes study guide, online course, and exam fee. All spirits tasted during the course are purchased by candidates.
