This course is recommended for those who have earned the Intermediate Certificate, or have a good foundation of wine knowledge. The class is conducted with one virtual ZOOM launch class followed by an online course with video lectures, mock exams, practice quizzes, readings, and one-on-one tasting note feedback. The online course is facilitated by an online tutor. We highly suggest candidates order their study materials well in advance of the class to study at home. This course is a hybrid course with some classes in person and some on Zoom conducted by an instructor. The exam and in-person classes will take place in person at the Sofitel, 20 E. Chestnut Street, Chicago. Students will receive their study materials as soon as they register for the course. This course is for those who have earned the WSET Level 3 in Wines. The virtual D4 Diploma course focuses on sparkling wines around the world. The course includes the Diploma D4 eBook, Online Course and American Wine School Virtual Classes on Zoom. The D4 exam takes place in Chicago. The exam date is associated with the course and cannot be changed as exams are ordered in advance. Candidates who miss their scheduled exam will be subject to a missed exam fee. -
This course is for those who have completed the D1 unit of Diploma. It is the second course and exam toward the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines award. The Business of wine covers the costs involved in producing wine including winery, distribution, and transportation costs as well as marketing expenses. It is assessed by means of a 60 min open-response exam that is offered 4 times a year: Jan, March, June, and October. The course includes both American Wine School Flex-Study Portal and American Wine School led virtual classes on Zoom. The Flex-Study Portal is an independent study program with quizzes and activities to help you move through the content. Guided by an online tutor, the Flex-Study Portal does not have lectures. The American Wine School Virtual sessions are instructor-led lectures with specific dates and times. All sessions are recorded.
