This entry level course provides basic information on basic grape varieties, introduction to wine tasting, food and wine pairing as well as basic service knowledge. Perfect for people new to the world of wine, this course results in a WSET Level 1 certificate and is a great starting point for most novice consumers. No experience required. This course is taught by a live instructor online during a weekly class. The class is delivered over three weeks and each session is 2 hours long. Once you register, study materials will be sent to you via regular mail. A class link will be sent to you via email a few days before the class begins. While this course contains all the same content, materials, and delivery of a face-to-face course, students will be responsible for securing the wines and a price reduction has been given to reflect the wine purchase. That said, there is no blind tasting on this exam. Students are responsible for the cost of the wines. -

This is a 5-week course with 6 learning modules. The program is 100% online with support from an online educator. The course material should take about 30 hours to complete, plus revision time. You can contact the educator any time for the duration of the scheduled course should you have any questions. While tasting is not part of the exam, students should sample different types of sake. Suggested sakes can be found in the course Specification. Students can post their tasting notes online for review. The textbook is provided within the online material.
