• D6 Unit of the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines represents an independent Research Paper written on a topic provided by WSET. The topics are announced on Aug 1st of each academic year. Submission dates are specific to a paper and occur on Jan 31st and July 31st of each academic year. Please be sure to submit your paper on or before the advertised submission date found on the topic question.

    Unit 4 explores the methods of spirit production as well as the types and styles of spirits around the globe. Unit 4 is assessed by a combined tasting and theory, closed-book examination, consisting of a tasting paper of three sparkling wines and one theory question.

  • This is a custom-hybrid course recommended for those who have earned the Intermediate Certificate, or have a good foundation of wine knowledge. The class begins with at home study and an in-person tasting day in Jan 2022 before participating in a Virtual, instructor-led program. After the Virtual portion of the program, an all day exam prep sessions take place in person in Pittsburgh. The sessions include review lectures, tastings, and exam prep. Successful candidates receive the Level 3 Certificate of the WSET.
  • This course is recommended for those who have earned the Intermediate Certificate, or have a good foundation of wine knowledge. The class is conducted with virtual ZOOM classes online and also in-person tasting & classes in Detroit. The exam is in person in Detroit. We highly suggest candidates order their study materials well in advance of the class to study at home. Flash cards, note taking, and reading the book is a must before class. The course includes:

The class combines at home study with five (5) In-person Classes & five (5) Virtual, instructor-led Classes. An exam prep session is offered just prior to the exam in person in Cleveland. The exam prep session includes mock tasting & theory. Successful candidates receive the Level 3 Certificate of the WSET.

To prepare for the exam, candidates will be asked to submit weekly tasting notes for one-on-one feedback to perfect wine tasting notes using the WSET SAT as will as access to an online practice quiz. We highly suggest candidates order their study materials well in advance of the class to study at home. Flash cards, note taking, and reading the book is a must before class.
