This entry level course provides basic information on basic grape varieties, introduction to wine tasting, food and wine pairing as well as basic service knowledge. Perfect for people new to the world of wine, this course results in a WSET Level 1 certificate and is a great starting point for most novice consumers. No experience required. This course is taught by a live instructor online during a weekly class. The class is delivered over four weeks and each session is 2 hours long. Once you register, study materials will be sent to you via regular mail. A class link will be sent to you via email a few days before the class begins. While this course contains all the same content, materials, and delivery of a face-to-face course, students will be responsible for securing the wines and a price reduction has been given to reflect the wine purchase. That said, there is no blind tasting on this exam so the number of wines is limited (3 reds, 2 whites, and 1 sweet wine) and we can, most likely, use what you have on hand. Alternatively, if you would like class purchase wines for the class, we have hand-selected an AWS 6-pack for Level 1 through WineJug, an online retail, to enhance your studies. Founded by an AWS alum, WineJug can deliver your class wines directly to your door. Students are responsible for the cost of the wines. Click on the logo below to access class wines:

This intermediate level course provides information on basic grape varieties, climates, and wine making techniques used in the major grape growing regions of the world. Additionally, the course includes service, storage and tasting techniques. This course results in a WSET Level 2 certificate. No experience required. This course is taught by a live instructor online and is delivered over 6 weeks. Once you register, study materials will be sent to you via regular mail. You can begin studying immediately. A class link will be sent to you via email a few days before the class begins. While the classroom is virtual and contains all the content, materials, and instruction a live class would, students are required to purchase their own wine. A reduction in course cost reflects that additional cost. Since there is no blind tasting associated with the exam, students can taste as many or as little of suggested wines as they desire. The instructor will provide a wine list needed for the class. You may also have class wines delivered to your home via WineJug.

  • This course is recommended for those who have earned the Intermediate Certificate, or have a good foundation of wine knowledge. This program is a hybrid course designed to provide candidates with both Virtual (instructor-led lectures and pre-recorded lectures) and In-person classroom instruction. The WSET Level 3 exam consists of two sections: Theory and Tasting. To thoroughly prepare candidates for the exam, the Virtual sessions focus primarily on theory via Instructor-led lectures on Zoom, and the in-person session focus on both tasting and theory. To prepare for the exam, candidates will be asked to complete and submit mock exams for individual feedback. In addition, candidates are asked to submit weekly tasting notes for one-on-one feedback to perfect wine tasting notes using the WSET SAT. We highly suggest candidates order their study materials well in advance of the class to study at home. Flash cards, note taking, and reading the book is a must before class. Successful candidates receive the Level 3 Certificate of the WSET.
