This entry level course provides basic information on basic grape varieties, introduction to wine tasting, food and wine pairing as well as basic service knowledge. Perfect for people new to the world of wine, this course results in a WSET Level 1 certificate and is a great starting point for most novice consumers. No experience required. Study material will be mailed in advance. Please read the study material prior to attending the first class. Online classes are recorded. All  in-person class and exams are at the Sofitel, 20 E. Chestnut Street, Chicago. The exam is offered in-person or online.      

This Hybrid Course and exam will take place in-person in Pittsburgh. Students will receive their study materials as soon as they register for the course. Once the materials have arrived, please start reading the book as it is important to come to class prepared. The first three (3) Classes are on line and the last three (3) Classes are in person on the same day. The exam is in person in Pittsburgh.

Perfect for people new to the world of wine, this course results in a WSET Level 1 Wine Award certificate and is a great starting point for novice consumers. No experience required. This course is an online course that begins with an instructor-led launch session on June 12, 2023 at 6pm CST. This 2-hour session is recorded and can be viewed anytime. A class link will be sent to you via email a few days before the class begins. This course contains the same content and materials of our in-person course, however, students are responsible for securing wines locally. A list of suggested wines will be provided during the launch session.
