AWS Classes & Tastings

The American Wine School (AWS) offers both regional tastings and non-certification wine classes throughout the year. Perfect for wine lovers of all levels, the AWS on-demand courses offer the flexibility to study at home at your own pace. Fully supported by an online tutor, these courses are designed to introduce students to key wine concepts including viticulture, winemaking, wine tasting, food & wine pairing, and more. Through a series of videos, readings, and activities, students will gain the building block required to make better wine selections and increase their enjoyment of wine. The coursework is offered as a two-course series: Unit 1 Introductory Overview of Wine and Unit 2 Classic Grapes & Wine Styles.

In addition to classes, the American Wine School offers tastings throughout the year. Some sponsored tastings are free to members of the trade & media only. Please read the description carefully before registering. There is a small fee associated with tasting that are not fully sponsored. When WSET alumnus are included, please be sure you have the correct certification level before registering. Most tastings are tutored-tasting led by industry experts and include a power point presentation as well as a seated tasting. Space is always limited, and we usually have a waiting list. As such, please let us know if your plans change so we can fill your spot.
