This entry level course provides basic information on classic grape varieties, introduction to wine tasting, food & wine pairing as well as basic wine service & storage. Perfect for people new to the world of wine, this course results in a WSET Level 1 Wine Award certificate and is a great starting point for novice consumers. No experience required. This course is an online course that begins with an instructor-led launch session on ZOOM. This 2-hour session is recorded and can be viewed anytime for those who cannot attend. A class link will be sent to you via email a few days before the class begins. This course contains the same content and materials of our in-person course, however, students are responsible for securing wines locally. A list of suggested wines will be provided during the launch session. -

This is a 4-week course with 6 learning modules. The program is 100% online with support from an online educator. The course material should take about 6 hours to complete, plus revision time. You can contact the educator any time for the duration of the scheduled course should you have any questions. While tasting is not part of the exam, students should sample different types of sake. Suggested sakes can be found in the Specification. Students can post their tasting notes online for review. The textbook is provided within the online material.
